Restoration work accounts for approximately 15% of the specimen. Repairs and restorations are common for fossils of this species, as complete specimens without significant damage are extremely rare. When selecting our specimens, we focus on pieces that retain as much of their natural appearance as possible. Many specimens available on the market appear almost too perfect because they have been extensively restored or reconstructed. Our specimens may not look as flawless, but they more faithfully reflect their original condition as found.

Cambropallas telesto Trilobite

Cambropallas telesto is a large trilobite from the Lower Cambrian, which lived approximately 520–510 million years ago. It is characterized by its broad cephalon (head shield), elongated segmented body and prominent genal spines. Thanks to its impressive size and distinctive appearance, it is one of the most sought-after trilobites from Morocco.

Locality

This specimen comes from Tasmamt near Alnif, Morocco. This part of the Moroccan Anti-Atlas is well known for its rich Cambrian fossil deposits and ranks among the world's most important trilobite localities. Every specimen is a natural original and may vary in size, preservation, rock colour and quality of preparation.

Appearance

Cambropallas telesto had a broad segmented body protected by a hard exoskeleton and lived on the sea floor of ancient Cambrian oceans. Its large size and striking morphology make it one of the most attractive Cambrian trilobites. Every specimen is unique and may differ in size, preservation and rock colour.
