Amber from Indonesia
Amber from Indonesia comes mainly from the island of Sumatra and is known for its diverse coloration and the pronounced fluorescence shown by some specimens under UV light. Sumatran amber formed during the Miocene, and fossil resins are found, among other places, in layers of brown coal. Our selection includes rough and polished amber as well as cut slices from Sumatra. Individual pieces differ in color, transparency, structure and fluorescence intensity.
