Košice

Košice meteorite is a stony meteorite from Slovakia that fell on February 28, 2010 after the passage of a bright fireball over the eastern part of the country. It is classified as an ordinary H5 chondrite and is one of the well-documented modern observed falls in Central Europe.

A total of 77 stones with a combined mass of approximately 4.3 kg were found, with the largest known specimen weighing 2.2 kg. Thanks to its precisely recorded fall, limited amount of material and Slovak origin, Košice is an interesting meteorite for collectors from Central Europe.
